You are about to make a DatsMe account. This walks you through it end to end, and tells you the one thing people most often get wrong afterwards: the name you use to log in is not your email.

Worth understanding first

  • Who can see whatEvery piece of your DatsMe page carries its own setting for who can see it — anyone, your friends, or only you — and where two settings disagree, the narrower one wins.
  • Your content is in your own databaseEverything you write on DatsMe lives in a database file that belongs to your account alone, not in one large table shared with every other member.
  • Your address never changesYour DatsMe address is minted once when you join and never changes afterwards, so any link to your page keeps working for as long as the page exists.
  • Why friends stop at 150DatsMe caps your friends at 150 on purpose — it is a statement about what the product is for, not a technical limit or a paid tier you can raise.
  • Points and creditsDatsMe has two separate balances — social points, which you earn, and credits, which pay for the features that cost real money to run.

Your page

  • Interests & HobbiesInterests & Hobbies is the public shelf of your page — collections of photos, videos and audio, grouped by whatever you are into.
  • Your profileYour profile is the top of your page — your picture, your name, a quote, and a few lines about you.
  • The sections of your pageYour page is built from stacked sections — My Thoughts, Applications, your connections, Favorite Websites, Interests & Hobbies, Personal Folders — and each one decides separately who can see it.
  • DatsFavoritesDatsFavorites is a row of shortcut tiles on your page for the websites you visit often.
  • DatsBlogDatsBlog is where you write articles, and where you choose the one that gets featured at the top of your page.
  • Profile songA profile song is a piece of audio attached to your page, reached from the red music button beside your name.
  • Your page's lookYour page's theme — its colours, fonts, background pattern and layout — lives in one Settings panel. You can set the colours by hand from a palette, or answer a questionnaire and let Regenerate Theme with AI generate one from your answers.
  • Voice introA voice intro is a short piece of audio of you, that visitors can play on your page.
  • DatsFeedDatsFeed is what your friends and groups have been doing, with controls to decide how much of it you see.
  • DatsPersonalityTypology tests — Enneagram, MBTI, Love Language and more — whose results are saved onto your page as items you can caption, tag and set the audience for.

Your people

  • DatsConnectionDatsConnection is where your people live — the friends you already have, the requests waiting on you, and suggestions of people you might know.
  • GroupsA group is a shared space you join by its tags — and its name is built from the address of whoever made it plus those tags.
  • Blocking someoneBlocking on DatsMe is not one switch on a person — it is two separate things: blocking a comment author, and blocking an email address.

Talking

  • DatsChatDatsChat is your messages — a list of your friends, a thread with each of them, and a call button beside every name.
  • DatsMailDatsMail is email between DatsMe accounts, with its own inbox, drafts, folders and attachments.
  • Voice callsYou can call any friend straight from your chat list, and a call runs as a slim bar at the top so the rest of the app keeps working.
  • NotificationsTwo different things share the word: the bell at the top of your page, which collects what happened while you were away, and whether your phone rings for an incoming call — which is set per device under My Devices.

Your stuff

  • Personal foldersPersonal folders are your own files on your own site — photos, videos, music, documents — and they are always private, with no setting that can change that.
  • Storage & backupOne page shows how much space your site is using, and lets you save a backup of the whole thing — your files and everything you have written — to your own Google Drive.
  • Devices & file accessConnect a device and your DatsMe folders show up in that device's own file picker — so any app on it can attach your files directly.
  • DatsLibraryEvery photo, video and piece of music you have put in your folders, gathered on one timeline by the day you added it, with a player that remembers where you stopped.

Your agent & pet

  • DatsAgentDatsAgent is an assistant that can act on your own site — change your bio and theme, send a chat or an email, follow news, and tell you which devices you are signed in on.
  • DatsPetA pet is an animated character that lives on your page — you design it, adopt it into your house, and one of them is the one visitors see.
  • DatsPetGameDatsPetGame is a racing arena where the pets you own compete — against a bot, against a friend, or as a run you can watch back.

Your account

  • Points, credits & billingDatsMe has two separate currencies: credits, which you spend on AI and services and which are what most things cost, and social points, which you earn by being connected to people.
  • Visibility & privacyVisibility controls decide who can see each thing on your DatsMe page — anyone, your friends, or only you.
  • My devicesOne page for everything about the machines you use DatsMe on — signing others out, fixing a stuck app, and building a complete archive of your data.
  • Third-party app accessOne list of every outside app you have connected, what each one may do on your behalf, and a way to take any of it back.
