Voice intro

A voice intro is a short piece of audio of you, that visitors can play on your page.

It sits in Settings under Profile Page & Theme, directly above Profile song, and the two are easy to mix up. The difference is what they are for: the voice intro is you talking — a hello, or a sentence about who you are — and it has one button, Upload audio intro. A profile song is music, it can come from your own library as well as a file, and it can be set to loop while a visitor stays. The page's own caption is the shortest way to remember it: "A short audio intro visitors can play on your page."

How to

What it can do

  • Add a short recording of your voice that visitors can play on your page
  • Play it back yourself from the same panel, with ordinary audio controls
  • Remove it again, which takes it off your page

Worth knowing

Removing it is one tap and it takes effect at once. The Remove beside the player clears it immediately — no confirmation, no Save. Walked end to end on a real account: uploaded, played back, removed, and the control went back to Upload audio intro with the player gone.

⚠️ It is not the same thing as Profile song, and they sit next to each other. The intro is your voice, plays once, and is meant to be short. The song is music, loops while a visitor stays, and has its own row in the page's section list.

This page exists because the feature was nearly written out of the guide. An early pass concluded there was no such thing as a voice intro and edited the spec to say so; the grep it relied on searched for the label inside quotes, and the label is JSX text, so it could not have matched however many voice intros existed.

Who can see it

The intro is part of your page, so who can hear it follows the whole-page setting in Settings under Privacy — see Who can see what.
