You are about to make a DatsMe account. This walks you through it end to end, and tells you the one thing people most often get wrong afterwards: the name you use to log in is not your email.

1. Claim your address

  1. Go to Join Now and type your email address.

Nothing is created yet. The page says so: "We'll email you a code to confirm it's yours. No account is created until you do."

  2. Tap Send me a code, then look in your email for a 6-digit code.

  3. Type the code into the six boxes and tap Confirm email.

If it does not arrive, there is a Resend code link under the button. The code only ever goes to your inbox — nobody can read it out to you.

  4. Type Your Name and a Password of at least 6 characters, then tap Create Account.

The name you type here is what other people see, and you can change it later.

  5. ⛔ Read the username the page gives you, and keep it. It is on the You're in screen, under "Your username is".

You are signed in, and the page has told you your address — something like newbietest.1. ⛔ That is what you log in with: the screen says "You'll use it to log in — email won't work." It is built from the name you chose, and it never changes afterwards — see Your address never changes.

2. Put something on your page

  1. On your own page, scroll to INTERESTS & HOBBIES and tap the + card.

A brand-new page is mostly empty outlines like this one. Each outline is a thing you can add, not a thing that failed to load.

  2. Type an Interest name. A Description is offered and is optional.

  3. Tap Create.

The heading gains a count — INTERESTS & HOBBIES · 1 — and your interest appears as a card with its own green Public badge. That badge is the thing to notice: everything you add carries its own setting for who can see it, and you can change it any time by tapping it.

3. See what is already waiting for you

  1. Open Chat from the bottom bar.

  2. Look under DATSME, below the empty FRIENDS list.

Your friends list genuinely is empty — it says No friends yet and See All Friends (0). But there are already four unread messages waiting in a separate DATSME section from three verified accounts: DatsMe, DatsMe Customer Support and DatsMe Tech Support. One of them has given you 500 credits to start with. ⚠️ DatsMe is an announcement channel — it says so at the bottom of the thread, and there is no box to reply in. To send a message to a person you first need a friend, which is what + Invite and Discover on that screen are for.

4. Add your first friend

  1. In Chat, tap + Invite.

Discover sits next to it and is greyed out on a new account — + Invite is the way in.

  2. Type their name and tap Invite.

Nothing happens as you type; the search runs when you press the button. An email address works here too, for someone not on DatsMe yet.

  3. Under People, find them and tap Add.

The button changes to Request Sent, and that is the end of your part. Nothing else moves until they accept — when they do, they appear under FRIENDS with a call button beside them, and See All Friends starts counting.

5. Say hello

  1. In Chat, tap your friend's row under FRIENDS.

An empty thread says No messages yet. Say hello! — that is the normal state, not an error.

  2. Tap Type a message… and write something.

The button stays grey until there is text, then turns solid. That is how you know it will send.

  3. Tap .

Your message appears straight away as a bubble labelled You (your address) with the time beside it, and the box clears ready for the next one. ⚠️ Chat sends immediately — there is no confirmation step. DatsMail does ask you to confirm before sending, and that difference is deliberate: a chat message is a remark, an email is a letter.
