Send a message to someone on DatsMe

You want to write to one person, and it is longer than a chat message.

Before you start

  • You know their DatsMe address — it is their slug followed by @datsme.me
  • Your own email is verified. If it is not, the mailbox says "Verify your email to send." instead of opening the composer

Steps

  1. On the bottom bar, tap Mail.

  2. Tap Compose.

  3. In To, type their address.

    Your keyboard may capitalise the first letter. That is fine — the address is not case-sensitive and it still arrives.

  4. Type a Subject and your message.

    Send stays greyed out until the message itself has text. A recipient and a subject alone will not enable it.

  5. At the top right, tap Send.

  6. Check the address and subject in Send to 1 recipient?, then tap Send again.

You will know it worked when

The composer closes, the mailbox comes back with a Sending… line offering Undo, and the message appears at the top of Sent as a row reading To: their address with the time beside it.

If it does not work

The mailbox says Verify your email to send. and Compose does nothing.
Your address is not verified yet. Tap Verify your email on that line and follow it; sending is blocked until you do.
