DatsConnection
DatsConnection is where your people live — the friends you already have, the requests waiting on you, and suggestions of people you might know.
You reach it from the Friend Connections row on your own page. It opens on People, with a Groups tab beside it, a search box for your existing friends, and three buttons: + Invite, Pending and Discover. The heading carries your friend count, and there is a ceiling on it — see Why friends stop at 150.
How to
- Send someone a friend requestYou want to connect with someone so you can see each other's pages, chat and call.
- Accept someone who has asked to be your friendSomeone has sent you a request and you want to connect.
- Take back a request you sentYou asked the wrong person, or changed your mind before they answered.
- Take someone off your active friends listYou want a shorter list, or you would rather not be connected right now.
What it can do
- See everyone you are connected to, with a count
- Get suggestions of people you may know, with how many friends you have in common
- Send someone a friend request, and see that it was sent
- Accept or decline requests other people have sent you
- Take back a request you sent before it is answered
- Move a friend off your active list without losing them
- Label how you know someone, and filter your list by those labels
- Search for someone by name, and see at a glance who you are already connected to
Worth knowing
⚠️ You cannot block a person from here, and that is not an oversight in this page. The ⋯ menu has no Block, because DatsMe has no single "block this person" switch. What can be blocked is a comment author and an email address, separately — see Blocking someone. ⚠️ The + Invite button's field takes a name, an email address, or a group tag — and pressing Invite with a NAME does not invite anybody. It searches, and gives you a list with an Add button per person; anyone you are already connected to is shown as Connected instead. An email address is the case that actually sends an invitation, for someone who is not on DatsMe yet. See Groups for the group-tag case.
Who can see it
Your friend list is its own section on your page with its own badge, and it is one of the sections that is always private — only you see it. See The sections of your page and Who can see what.
